I recently visited the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Uganda and I was absolutely blown away by what I have experienced.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, located in the heart of Lake Victoria in Uganda, is home to over 50 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. Established in 1998, the sanctuary has played a significant role in the conservation of chimpanzees, which are facing multiple threats in the wild. The sanctuary provides a safe and secure environment for these primates to live out their lives, with the aim of rehabilitating them for possible release to the wild. For visitors, Ngamba Island offers a unique opportunity to observe and interact with chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
